Practice Director - Crescent Oral Surgery

About the Role

Crescent Oral Surgery (COS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Practice Director to join our growing team. This full-time leadership role spans across our three locations in Toronto, Aurora, and Richmond Hill, and plays a critical part in the ongoing growth and operational excellence of our practices.

Reporting to the Partners, the Practice Director will oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations, contribute strategically to our growth initiatives, and lead a team of over 75 professionals. This position will collaborate closely with internal team leads, referral networks, and industry partners, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care while driving operational and financial success. 

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Financial Excellence

  • Manage clinic financials, including overseeing profit and loss, revenue forecasting, and labor cost management.

  • Ensure regular on-site presence at each practice location, to monitor performance and support all staff in delivering high-quality patient care and experiences.

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews and communicate key metrics to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate to develop an annual COS budget reflective of the annual growth strategy.

  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize daily operations across all COS locations.

  • Oversee procurement processes and coordinate material and resource allocation

  • Oversee IT operations and systems efficiencies, as well as consistent governance, reporting, and process optimization.

Leading People and Building Strong Relationships

  • Lead and mentor department heads, providing strategic direction, coaching, and support.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance culture aligned with COS values.

  • Support associates in building their practices and expanding referral relationships.

  • Guide goal setting and performance management processes to drive continuous improvement.

  • Identify talent development opportunities and contribute to succession planning efforts.

  • Ensure operational alignment between clinical, administrative, coordination, and call center teams through effective team leadership and engagement efforts.

  • Collaborate with dentalcorp departments (HR, Compliance, DC Institute) to maintain regulatory compliance and training standards.

  • Build a strong network and culture across all three practice locations, with Team Leads, Team Members, Associates, Partners, Patients, and the Dental Community at-large as an ambassador for COS.

Patient Care and Experience

  • Ensure the utmost quality care outcomes for patients, through required compliance training and standards for all COS practices and team members.     

  • Identify, develop, and lead innovative initiatives and improvements to continuously enhance the patient experience, alongside COS Partners and team members.

  • Work closely with team leads, surgeons, and dentalcorp support teams to resolve patient concerns and maintain high satisfaction levels. 

Transformation and Growth

  • Develop and oversee the annual growth strategy for COS, including call centre and referral strategy, marketing, talent management, and other growth levers and opportunities

  • Leverage data insights and identify innovative solutions to drive growth opportunities across all marketing efforts.  

  • Design and implement an annual growth strategy including referral development, marketing, and talent acquisition.

  • Align strategy with operational implementation to ensure successful outcomes between clinical, admin, and call centre teams across COS practices and community referral practices.

About You

  • Bachelor's and/or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management or a related field.

  • Proven experience in Senior Leadership Roles, with Advanced Operational and People Management responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, manage multiple projects, and build strong cross-functional relationships.

  • Strong strategic thinking, financial and business acumen, commercial awareness, and execution capabilities.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between all COS locations in the GTA.
