Bio

Dr. Brian Clarke was born in Etobicoke, Toronto, and spent his early years there before moving at the age of sixteen to a farm in Moonstone near Orillia. This transition fostered an appreciation for both city and country living—an influence that continues to shape the balance he maintains between his professional and personal life.

He attended the University of Waterloo, where he earned a degree in Kinesiology, before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Toronto. Driven by a passion for creating beautiful, functional smiles, Dr. Clarke pursued orthodontic specialty training at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.

Dr. Clarke began his orthodontic career in Sudbury, Ontario, in 1988. Over the decades, he has helped thousands of patients enhance their smiles and confidence. In recent years, he has transitioned into a semi-retired role, focusing on locum work and supporting colleagues in managing their practices—work he finds both rewarding and refreshing.

His orthodontic philosophy is balanced and pragmatic. Dr. Clarke values both Invisalign and traditional braces, recognizing that each treatment option has its place depending on the individual needs of the patient. He has particular expertise in treating Class II malocclusions and brings extensive experience with appliances such as Pendulums, Herbst, and Forsus devices, as well as surgical approaches when appropriate. He is also highly experienced in the use of temporary anchorage devices (TADs), an important tool in modern orthodontics.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Clarke is a licensed pilot and an avid fisherman. A lifelong athlete, he now channels his passion for sports into coaching squash and contributing to the growth of the game in Sudbury.

Family plays a central role in Dr. Clarke’s life. He is the proud father of four adult sons, a devoted stepfather, and a grandfather to six grandchildren, a role that brings him great joy.

Dr. Clarke’s involvement with Treehouse Dental in Toronto began when he stepped in to support the practice during a colleague’s illness. During that time, he developed a strong connection with the team and was impressed by their professionalism and warmth. When the opportunity arose to join the practice more permanently, he embraced it and looks forward to contributing to its continued growth while delivering exceptional orthodontic care to patients.
