Bio
Dr Thisaranie Herath grew up in Edmonton, attending Vernon Barford Junior High and Old Scona Academic High School. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta before moving to Australia to complete her postgraduate Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Sydney. She then practiced for nearly 5 years in Canberra, Australia’s capital, where she developed a strong foundation in comprehensive family dentistry and built lasting relationships with her patients.
Dr Herath enjoys seeing patients of all ages, from young children to seniors. She understands dental visits can feel stressful or anxious, so she takes time to listen carefully, address concerns, and tailor her approach to each patient’s needs. Clinically, Dr Herath is passionate about preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible, and providing modern, evidence-based treatment. She also enjoys educating patients on how closely oral health connects to overall health and well-being. Her goal is for every patient to leave feeling confident, informed, and in control of their oral health.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Herath is happily obsessed with her cat, making her way through her ever-growing Goodreads reading list, honing her culinary skills in the kitchen, and re-discovering Edmonton’s food scene.
